Mr David Nott trained at Manchester University and completed specialist training in Liverpool. He has been an NHS consultant general surgeon for 20 years. As soon as he became a consultant he volunteered for Humanitarian Surgery abroad and has worked in war zones around the world, notably Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Chad, Dafur, Afhanistan, Iraq, Congo, Libya and Pakistan to name a few. He was also one of the first surgeons to assist with the earthquake in Haiti. He is a member of the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (ALS), British Medical Association, Society of Academic & Research Surgery (SARS), Médecins Sans Frontières and the British Red Cross. His research interests are in Laparoscopic surgery and all types of minimally invasive surgery. He has over 100 publications in academic journals.
